Service Policies

Vaccination Requirements

Health and safety is of optimal importance for all of our pet guests. A vaccination certificate from a veterinarian is required for each pet before admittance into the facility. If your pet requires an updated vaccination, please make arrangements for the vaccination to be administered no less than 10 days before any scheduled service.

All pets are required to have up-to-date for the entirety of their stay:

  • Rabies
  • Distemper/Parvo Virus
  • Bordetella

* The Canine Influenza vaccine is not a requirement; however, we highly recommend all dogs coming to the Pet Care Center receive this vaccination. Please consult with your veterinarian to make the best decision for your beloved pet.

You may fax your pet’s vaccination records directly from your veterinarian’s office to our fax machine at 724.942.3636 or email them to [email protected]. To speak directly with an associate, please contact us at 724.942.3333.

Boarding & Day Care Policies

For everyone’s safety, all pets entering and exiting Nemacolin Wooflands Pet Care Center must be on a leash or in a carrier until directed otherwise

Check-in & Check-out

Drop-off and pick-up is required between 8:00am and 5:00pm for boarding clients. Clients may pre-pay at drop off if expected to arrive later than 5pm on the day of departure. Clients with boarding packages or that have pre-paid may pick up as late as 7pm. Please allow an extra 10 minutes in your schedule for the boarding check-in process.

Drop-off and pick-up is required between 8:00am and 5:00pm for daycare clients. Clients that pre-pay at drop off have until 7:00pm to pick up. Clients with daycare packages may drop-off and pick-up between 7:30am and 7:00pm.

Grooming clients are expected to drop-off at the scheduled appointment time and pick-up their pet(s) within an hour of completion of the groom. There will be a daycare charge for pet(s) that are here over an hour prior to the start of the appointment or for more than an hour after completion.

Wellness

The Nemacolin Wooflands Pet Care Center associates are dedicated to the health and wellness of your pet. A veterinarian from our partner, Woodlands Animal Care Center, is on call 24-hours a day in case of an emergency. If your pet should require medical attention while in our care, our protocol is to contact our veterinarian on-call and/or shuttle your pet to the nearest available emergency veterinarian.

Nemacolin Wooflands Pet Care Center reserves the right to refuse admittance to any pet guest for any reason, at any time, who lacks proof of vaccinations, displays signs of untreated or potentially contagious conditions, demonstrates aggressive behavior, or who fails our standard health and temperament policies.

Special Needs & Medical Care

Nemacolin Wooflands Pet Care Resort & Spa recognizes that some of our guests may have special needs. We encourage our clients to discuss any special requirements with us when making a reservation, including but not limited to: medications, supplements, special meal preparation, extra feeding times, daily brushing, puppy care, and senior care. We offer supplements in-house that may assist your pet’s special needs during their stay, like calming treats and probiotic treats, for an additional charge.

Our caring associates are trained to administer any oral or topical medications your dog may require during their visit. We cannot administer injectable medications. If your pet is on medication, please bring in their labeled prescriptions and provide doctor’s instructions for the entire length of the stay.

Belongings

Owners are welcome to bring items that will help their pet feel more comfortable. Bedding, blankets, and toys that smell like home can help your pet feel more familiar in the new environment. This is strongly suggested for boarding pets due to the length of their stay.

We provide pets with a variety of bedding and bowls that fit the special needs of your pet. We do not recommend bringing in your own towels or bowls unless labeled with your pet’s name.

Visitation & Facility Tours

Visitation during boarding is allowed for owners during our lobby hours of 8:00am-6:00pm. Tours are provided as a walk in service and can be given at any time during the lobby hours, no appointment required.

Dining

For the health and safety of your pet, we strongly recommend bringing your pet’s current food for the boarding stay or daycare stay if applicable. Switching diets during the time of boarding may lead to digestive upset. Please prepare and label your pet’s food with individual bags per meal for their entire stay.

In the event that your pet is without their current food, we do provide in-house wet and dry food formulas. Recommended by our Veterinarian at Woodlands Animal Care, our in-house wet and dry foods are formulated for sensitive stomachs. Our in-house meals are available for an additional fee of $5 per meal.

Cancellations

We ask owners to make any cancellations at least 3 days prior to their arrival date for boarding, daycare, and grooming appointments.

Holiday Policy

Our lobby is closed on the listed holidays and we do not provide any Daycare, Grooming, or Boarding Drop-offs or Pick-ups:

  • New Year’s Day
  • Easter Sunday
  • Memorial Day
  • July 4th
  • Labor Day
  • Thanksgiving Day
  • Christmas Day

Complimentary Temperament Test Day *

Temperament tests are mandatory for first time boarders and daycare clients. This is a complementary half day of daycare to familiarize your pet with our facility. Your pet will enjoy all of the enrichment activities in our yard spaces and group play throughout this stay. Your pet will be introduced to new dogs of a similar size and play style one at a time to reduce anxiety until fully integrated into our play groups. We ask for 3-5 hours of time with your pet to get acquainted and drop off times are between 8:00am-12:00pm.

Temperament tests are still required for pets that are not dog friendly and will not be introduced to our play groups. We do not require temperament tests for grooming services.
