Each animal that visits Woodlands Animal Care Center is carefully examined for special needs, as well as has their diets assessed. We counsel clients on appropriate diets for animals with weight problems (under or overweight), and carefully discuss allergic conditions, chronic problems and systemic illnesses.

Weight Loss Programs

Obesity in pets can lead to many of the same health risks as in humans. Overweight pets are more prone to diabetes, heart disease, respiratory disease, arthritis, and high blood pressure. It has also been proven that overweight and obese animals live shorter lives.

At Woodlands Animal Care Center, we believe in a multimodal approach to help our furry friends get to a healthy weight. We provide pet parent consultations, diagnostics to rule out any medical reasons for weight gain, nutrition advisements, medical therapy if warranted, and weight loss exercises. We even offer weight loss boot camp where your pet can stay at our Farmington, PA location while they are transitioning to their new healthy life!
